FAQs

About us

Do you offer services for home and businesses?

Yes, we offer fibre broadband, telecoms, and IT services for homes and businesses of all sizes across Wales.

Is Cambrian Connect an internet service provider?

Yes, although we are a little bit different, we not only build and maintain our own networks, we also partner with National, regional, and local networks to provide you the best service available..

Are Cambrian Connect tied to BT, EE, O2 or Vodafone?

Quite simply, no. We are network agnostic, meaning we will find the best deal for you depending on your location, budget and requirements. We work with the main providers but are in no way associated or part of them.

I am currently with a different provider, is it easy to switch to Cambrian Connect?

Switching to us is simple, just confirm your order with us and notify your current provider (each provider will have different notice terms). We can also arrange porting your current number over to your new plan if you wish to keep it.

How do I find out what services are available in my area?

How do I find out what my current internet speed is?

You can quickly check your current download and upload speed by using our easy speed checker. Check your speed here.

Why is my internet connection so slow?

There are a number of reasons why your speed may be suffering, some of the more common ones include:

  • The number of devices connected may be slowing down your connection.
  • Your computer, phone or tablet may be ageing, not performing at its full capability or have a virus.
  • Your hardware, including your router may be faulty.
  • The hardware used to transmit your internet connection throughout your home/business may need updating. This could include your router, ethernet cables or Wi-Fi extenders.
  • The layout or building materials in your property may be affecting the connection. Wi-Fi connections often have trouble passing through concrete, stone and brick.
  • Your internet plan may have a bandwidth and/or data cap.
How do I know what speed I need?

The internet speed you require will depend on the types of tasks you will need to perform and the number of devices you will need to use on the same connection. Use this calculator provided by Omni to work out your typical data usage. www.omnicalculator.com/everyday-life/data-usage

What downtime will there be between switching?

Inevitably there will be some downtime, however, we manage this by arranging a time with you to minimalize and negate any disruption.

How long will installation take?

Our experienced trained engineers will be able to install your new connection hardware in a matter of hours in most cases. In the event of new cables and lines having to be installed, this will take longer.
